Peter Culley was the recipient of this annual design visionary award for an individual contributing outstanding design vision within the state of Virginia and beyond. The jury said:

“While recognizing the overall design vision that Culley brings to all of his work, the jury particularly recognized his visionary work in Virginia. The proposed BridgePark project offers an inspiring vision for the City of Richmond….  The jury noted your work both actual and potential work planned but still to be fulfilled.  They also applauded your work with elementary and high schools in various locations, using live projects as a starting point to prompt our younger citizens to imagine how they could become future decision makers to shape our environment within an increasingly complex set of challenges.”
