Official Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s ‘David H.Koch Plaza’

Peter Culley represented Spatial Affairs Bureau at a ceremony attended by a host of New York dignitaries. Spatial Affairs Bureau, in collaboration with Rick Mather USA, has designed new benches, parasols and guard booths for the project, which is under the overall design leadership of Olin.

Peter Culley Becomes Certified Passive House Consultant
Peter has successfully completed training to become a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC). Passive House is the US’ most stringent energy accreditation with its focus on extremely high performance low energy design. Key elements include super insulation of envelope, air tightness, optimum orientation and thermal bridge free detailing. The Passive House approach is gaining momentum in North America, moving beyond the private house market into multi-family units and school design. Passive Haus, the equivalent European organisation, is already popular for housing, schools and commercial buildings.

Spatial Affairs in Royal Academy Summer Exhibition

Our model for the William Eggleston Museum Study in Memphis, TN has been hung in the architecture room at the Royal Academy.

Meanwhile, Rana Begum, our client for Bouverie Mews won the Sculpture Prize and her work can be seen in pole position in the same room.

Bouverie Mews Gains Planning Permission

Bouverie Mews, a home and workplace for Rana Begum and Nathaniel Rackowe, has been granted Full Planning Permission by London Borough of Hackney.

Metropolitan Museum of Art announces the plans for the new 5th Avenue Plaza

Working under Olin, the primary landscape lead, Spatial Affairs Bureau in conjunction with Rick Mather USA are developing designs for site furnishings and kiosks including fixed benches and custom parasols.
